Often St. Vincent de Paul volunteers respond to requests for assistance by visiting the home of those in need. Many times during these "home visits" our volunteers encounter families living with little or no furniture. Children are sleeping on the floor, many without blankets. Sometimes the children are using newspaper or cardboard to warm themselves at night while they sleep.
The St. Vincent de Paul North Sound Council has been providing beds to children for more than 10 years. On average, we spend over $50,000 annually to provide beds for the children we encounter.
The beds we provide are all new materials, they are made locally, and they are reasonably priced. We can provide a twin mattress, box and frame for $209.98 and we often provide bedding as well.
We all know that a good night of sleep is key for everyone, especially children:
Please join us in bringing the valuable gift of a good nights rest to your neighbors in need.
